The Alphabet … D …
The Alphabet … D …
Fuelled by LOVE ..
The alphabet of grief, from my perspective… D … grief is triggered by loss, fuelled by love … Death.
A person, a plan, an idea has left, been taken away. Grief can exist not only due to the loss of a special someone, although that is how we generally view it. Therefore, I’ll stick to the death of a loved one.
So, death. A word, that for some reason isn’t used very often, it’s avoided… many prefer not to think about or discuss it. It’s considered in silence… very many aspects surrounding death are very logical, yet unspoken.
Unspoken logic … every human, every loved one .. will at some point live their final hour in our world. I can hear you thinking, obviously !!!!!!! Yes, we know this simple fact from a very young age, very young. It’s so widely known, that it need not get discussed, or that’s how it seems. Maybe this is illogical ?
Talking about something that is so incredibly normal. A part of life, an ending. To not fear it & be comfortable discussing, witnessing & living with the life timer in our minds. May help the A in the alphabet , the acceptance.
Ok, so, my friend grief, who’s joined me as a friend, left behind by my husband, provoked me to consider this…. When I walked up the aisle in 1999 to become Gareths wife, IF a member of the congregation had stopped me. Michelle , stop !
“You are aware , are you not ? That by marrying this man today there is a 50 % chance that you will become a widow at some point, any point “
Ha!! My response would have been… “obviously” …. And i would have continued down the aisle brimming with excitement.
I knew, it was logical. Nobody said that, of course they didn’t. That’s because it was more, unspoken logic.
Death is part of life, it can’t be avoided. It can however be talked about, considered, planned for.
Grief, wants us to understand death, understand life & think logically. Live logically & let the love that fuels grief, flow.
Allow grief to hold your hand. Ask questions & encourage us to answer, logically. Love fuels grief & life … ❤️
Grief loves you, provides a new perspective & gifts you an ability to discuss death, think about it. Love & live with this in mind. We will not escape death & neither will any of our loved ones ❤️
