Pot luck 🍀 or ?

Snooker … there are rules, a game without an opponent would be boring, not challenging & wouldn’t help us improve our skills. However, we could make our own rules up 😂.

The game we are playing.. we can concentrate, improve our skills, anticipate our opponents next move & skill level. Potting the colours, feels great, sometimes luck, sometimes down to intense practice, focus & determination. Staying on the table is the name of the game, keeping those colours moving around the table, nudging them, pelting them, relying on pot luck or our honed skills & tactics.

It feels a strange game though as we never know which opponent will take the next shot when our luck is down.. who will it be 🤔

Emotion, circumstances, weather, tiredness …. Or any of the other many possible flow stopping hiccups. Who ? Are we ready for them ? 😟 😀

Not always, no … that’s ok though … step aside, let them take their shot .. hang in there & undoubtably we will get back onto the table & get those colours flying & flowing around. Potting some down to our ever improving skills .. & a dash of luck 🍀 🎱

The rules of the game I believe can be adapted depending on the opponent at the time. Welcome any opponent as it’s guaranteed to improve our game, however nerve wracking & testing it can be. Wait for the next colour to be potted, step back, enjoy the moment, take a brief deep breath & get back to moving those colours .. enjoy the feeling & know there’s a luck shot surely on its way & in the meantime you’ll rely on your improving skill level.

Practice, not fearing any opponent, luck, keeping the colours rolling & flowing …. & adapting the rules if we can get away with it, are going to result in us playing our best game.

Have a great game today, whichever opponent shows up to shake your colours & inteript your flow. Trust the pot luck & your ever improving skills.
